New Traditions up for comment......

Came across these on a Hash Website somewhere;

1. Hashers trying to find a shortcut or otherwise deviating from the trail will yell "Flying!" or flap their arms to indicate that they have abandoned the trail and others should follow at their own risk.

2. During a naming event, the individual is singled out and asked multiple and typically embarrassing questions. Other members may then share stories or observations about the individual, with the final name being chosen by general consensus from multiple suggestions.

Besides flapping the arms around, but also mind you I came from a ladies HASH club in Perth and what they do occassionly and make that person run/walk in a bra over their tops. During the circle, if someone constantly talks or being rude, we have a cone of shame that they must wear (cone being the council orange hats - and as a parting gift, I was given a baby one for memory of the Numbats group)...Another type bra thing we had, was like a laxex body, but this resembled 3 boobs, and after the week of having it you sign onit, decorate to say that youo have been shamed to wear it....

Naming circle....basically it was not up to the commitee decide,but as a whole in the group. They start of asking basic questions about the person, then all names are thrown out until the group has made a decision best suited to the runner...Person being named does not have a say in preferance of names.....

Can I also say, NEVER leave anyone one their own, either walking and or running....This is a rule in all clubs in Perth, especially in the winter months....ensure others know how many runners/walkers on run, where they are at all times, especially when you stop for a drink break...Hence why I have not been able to return back to hash...after a critical incident that I came across and was caught up init for at least 8 mins...This has put me off,..for awhile.. ..

Another suggestion.....You need to think about a club signing off song, rather than " that's it lets' go and eat...all clubs in Perth have a signing off song....I have a couple of them on me if you are interested seeing them....

Another suggestion- to keep the moral up in the group, runners attending each week..to achieve towards run badges..they commence at 50 runs, then 100 etc....each milestone, ie..100, 200 etc runs they are awarded with a gift being a 100 run, silver mug, with hash name, club and 100th run date.

Just some ideas....
